Vacation Destinations in Northern California
♫ Monday, May 14th, 2012While Southern California gets the bulk of the attention when people think about vacationing in the state, the Northern California region should no be overlooked. With more forests, a more rugged style of coastline, and completely unique cities and towns, Northern California is a very good vacation destination. Here are three great things to do and places to go during a vacation to Northern California.
1. The city of San Francisco should be on the top of the destination list of anyone wanting a great vacation. From the fun that can be had on San Francisco Bay, to the sights available in the Golden Gate National Recreation, to the fantastic things to do in downtown San Francisco and in the amazing waterfront area.
2. Redwoods National Park is one of the more visually impressive places to travel to in Northern California. It not only offers a chance to experience the towering Redwoods that give the park its name, but it also borders the Pacific Ocean and provides for some wonderful photo taking opportunities.
3. The California State Capitol Building is a wonderful place to visit for anyone with even a slight interest in history or government. First, the building is a living historical building where the state government still operates and functions on a daily basis. In the second place, also housed at the capitol building is a wonderfully equipped museum detailing the history of the state of California and the government that has operated there.
Experienced travelers know that though it is sometimes overshadowed by the southern part of the state, Northern California can provide for a wonderful vacation experience. From the beautiful coastline to the high mountains and heavily forested areas in the interior, Northern California is a first class, high quality vacation destination.
